Skilled Construction Labourer/Helper

Hollyhock Construction is looking for an experienced Labourer/Helper with work experience who is interested in working at various construction sites with a focus on ICF installation, concrete forming, and carpentry in residential/housing projects.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

● Full-Time, indefinite

● Hourly Wage range: $19 – $27, based on experience

● Group Benefits (extended health, dental care, eye care, and much more)

● Monday to Friday 8-hour shifts, up to 40 hours per week

● Overtime when authorized

DELIVERABLES – WHAT WE NEED YOU TO ACCOMPLISH:

● Proficiently operate a variety of heavy power tools including grinders, concrete saws, jackhammers, cordless power drills and skilled saws

● Read and interpret construction drawings and plans, taking necessary measurements and working with site leads to ensure the accurate installation

● Use basic tools, such as tool belts, table saws, and sawzall and wear personal protective equipment, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment

● Utilize problem-solving skills to overcome any obstacles encountered during construction, including adapting to site conditions and unexpected challenges

● Follow established site organization and cleanliness standards to maintain a respectful, waste-free, and safe work environment.

REQUIREMENTS – MUST HAVE:

● Legally entitled to work in Canada

● Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for transportation to and from job sites

● Strong English language skills, with effective speaking abilities to ensure clear communication for safety protocols and construction coordination

● Previous construction experience preferred to ensure familiarity with tools, construction quality standards, and safety practices

● Excellent problem-solving skills

● High level of safety awareness and implementation for compliance

● Well-organized and respectful of site cleanliness

● Self-initiative and adaptability to changing project needs

● Ability to do a reasonable commute to job sites

● Must have minimum Personal Protective Equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses and appropriate construction site work clothing)
